Morning and afternoon care for preschoolers, Herukka, operates in the preschool's premises. Day starts at 07:30 a.m. and continues right after preschool until 5:15 p.m. Early childhood education for preschoolers is organized in other early childhood education units, if necessary, during the school holidays.
The interruption or end of the need for early childhood education is reported to the early childhood education group or the director of early childhood education as soon as possible, and the termination is done through eDaisy.
Evening and round-the-clock care
Muonio municipality's early childhood education organizes daycare in the Mansikka group. Evening and round-the-clock care is early childhood education, day care and/or weekend care that takes place between 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 a.m.
There is no subjective right to evening/round-the-clock care. Only those children whose need for care is based on the regular shift work or vocational studies of both guardians or the one or only guardian living in a joint household are entitled to shift care.
In evening/round-the-clock care, the childcare hours are based on the parents' working shifts. Child care time is therefore the parents' working time + business trips.
Parents must inform Daisy of their children's planned care times and known days off in advance as early as possible, but no later than a week before Monday at 12:00 p.m. (Childcare time is the parents' coordinated working time.)
The child can be cared for whenever both parents are at work and after the night shift until the parents' bedtime at most until 4:00 p.m.
The child's care team must be notified immediately of the child's absence. If the child is not brought to care at the specified time on the weekend, and the absence is not reported in any way, the caregiver waits at the daycare center for 30 minutes, after which the care reservation is considered expired and the caregiver can leave the place.
The parents' holidays and days off are also in the child's best interest and do not entitle them to day care. It is recommended that an average of eight days off per month be arranged for a child in shift care. If one of the parents is on sick leave, the child care hours follow the working hours of the working parent. If the child participates in early childhood education during the parent's free time (day off, holiday, sick leave), it is recommended that it takes place on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Breakfast is offered to those children for whom care is booked from 8:15 a.m. or earlier. Lunch is offered to those children who need care between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. A snack is served from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is offered to those children whose care time continues after 5:45 p.m. Evening snack is served at 8:00 p.m.
