Preschool

In the year before compulsory education begins, the child must participate in pre-school education or other activities that achieve the goals of pre-school education. Preschool education supports the child's individual learning and its task is to promote the child's growth into a school student. A child learns while playing and working together with other children. Teaching follows our own Early Childhood Education curriculum, which is based on the national plan.

Preschool electronic transactions are done with the Daisyfamily application, which you can download to your phone (first login with strong identification, i.e. bank credentials or mobile certificate).

You can apply for preschool education electronically through edaisy - applying for preschool education with a form.

Electronic transactions are always logged in through the Suomi.fi service with strong identification, i.e. either with bank credentials or a mobile certificate.

Absences

When a preschooler is absent from preschool due to illness or other sudden reason, the guardian is obliged to notify the child's early childhood teacher as soon as possible.

Notification should be made primarily by phone (by calling or texting).

Absences that are known in advance (e.g. vacation trips) must be communicated to the preschool teacher well in advance.

Permission to be absent for a maximum of three days of pre-school education is granted by the teacher of the child's school group.

Absences lasting 3-10 pre-school days are requested from the early childhood education supervisor, and absences of more than 2 weeks are requested from the director of education. Permission to be absent can be requested with a free-form Daisy message or by e-mail. In the message, state at least the time of absence and the reason for the absence.

Depending on the situation, we consider the need for replacement tasks during absences.

Our preschool monitors absences closely. The goal is to guarantee the smooth progression of preschoolers' learning.

Please note that preschool education and morning and afternoon care are two different things. If your child is absent from care, report it in Daisy's booking system, and if your child is absent from preschool - inform the teacher.

Early childhood education supplementing preschool education

Children of preschool age have the opportunity to participate in early childhood education that supplements preschool education in the Herukka group on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Early childhood education that supplements pre-school education takes place in the same facilities as pre-school education. In addition, there are morning and afternoon activities for school children.

Apply for supplementary early childhood education through edaisy from this link - select an early childhood education application. Decisions about taking children into activities are made by the head of early childhood education. Supplementary early childhood education works in accordance with early childhood education practices and regulations (Customer Fees).

Reservations for activities are made through the DaisyFamily service. You can download the application to your phone and use it immediately.

Herukka is open between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. from12:40 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Breakfast is offered to children who come to the activity by 8:15 a.m. In addition to breakfast, the program includes play and games inside in the morning. Finally, we go outside and wait for the teaching day to start at 8:30-8:45 a.m. In the afternoon we hang out, play, play games and eat a snack.
