Rural administration

The municipality of Muonio acts as the host municipality in the cooperation area of the rural settlement administration of Tunturi-Lap. The cooperation area includes the municipalities of Kittilä, Enontekiö and Muonio. The duties of the Rural Administration are handled by acting natural resources manager and rural secretary. The task area is strongly controlled by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (EU).

This industry block includes advisory, support, opinion-making, control and development tasks for various rural businesses, payment tasks according to the centralized agricultural support system, and various inspections and evaluation tasks, e.g. wild animal and reindeer damage in the area.

Reception dates

Rural administration services are handled in both the Muonio and Kittilä municipal offices during normal office opening hours, Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Reception days at the Enontekiö municipal office are always the second Tuesday of the month, and every Tuesday during the main application period for agricultural subsidies in May.
