Health inspection of the unemployed

The health check is intended for unemployed job seekers. The health inspection is regulated in the law (1326/2010, § 13).

The unemployed have the right to a free health check-up, which is arranged at the local health nurse's office. The purpose of the inspections is to assess and strengthen the state of health, well-being, and working and functional capacity of the unemployed.

You can make an appointment for a health check-up yourself, or you can be referred to a health check-up, participation in the check-up is voluntary.

The health checkup includes a survey of the health status as well as guidance and counseling for the prevention of lifestyle diseases. In the health check, special attention is paid to aspects that affect life management and work ability. If necessary, a referral to a doctor or specialists in various fields is made for follow-up treatment. A municipality-specific fee is charged for follow-up treatments.
